Personal Statement

I am a bilingual counselor (English and Mandarin 中文普通话) from China with diverse academic backgrounds in business and engineering. As a career changer and former international student, I am passionate about supporting people in exploring different possibilities in their lives and navigating any obstacles they encounter. As an intern therapist, I am committed to creating a supportive and collaborative space and to providing customized and meaningful services for each client.

We are all born for love, and we want to be seen, accepted, and loved for who we are. It might seem difficult and hopeless at some points in our lives, but we are all on this journey together.

Who I Serve

I provide care for teens, adults, couples, and families by adapting to each client’s unique rhythms and meeting their individual needs. As a first-generation immigrant with experiences studying and working in different countries and with diverse academic backgrounds, I bring divergent and strategic thinking, along with authentic empathy, to people from all cultural backgrounds.

Theoretical Approach

I take an integrative and fluid approach, with a foundation in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and with the belief that negativity isn’t pathology to eliminate but a part of the human ecosystem. When clients share their pain, I lean in with radical openness. My work isn’t about “solving” symptoms but about seeing and honoring the wisdom in each person’s internal ecosystem and relational patterns. I help individuals, couples, and families witness each other’s protective layers not as flaws but as buried cries for safety, and I empower their innate resilience to guide their lives. Together, we practice letting discomfort exist without fighting it. I also incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples to help partners understand and express their emotions, develop positive ways of interacting, and enhance emotional intimacy.
