Personal Statement

I believe we all face adversity at different points in our lives. Having a safe, non-judgmental space to explore feelings and attitudes around these life events can be critical to preserving mental health. I believe everyone brings their own strengths into any situation, but sometimes need help in reframing and redefining themselves. I strive to be a compassionate, empathetic sounding board to people dealing with different life crises. I have worked in the field of substance abuse for the past 16 years and am retired from the military, so I bring a broad life perspective into my work with others.
