Personal Statement

I believe that people need support systems especially given the constantly changing nature of the world we live in today. I chose to enter the mental health field because I was once a teen experiencing significant life challenges. I first felt comfortable being exactly who I was as I sat across from my own individual therapist. At that moment, I decided that it was my life’s calling to help others who needed a safe space just as I did.

In working with me, I aim to join you on a path that may have twists, turns, and forks in the road. Rather than telling you what action to take, I will help empower you to identify the best route for your mental wellness.

“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.” ~ Brené Brown

Theoretical Approach

I am a client-centered counselor with a multifaceted approach to therapy. I believe when working with children, play is their language and toys are their words. In working with teen and adult populations, I aim to use a combination of cognitive behavior therapy, and client-centered approaches to navigate through someone’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a collaborative manner. I embrace an open-minded, multicultural, and safe environment empowering clients to speak on one’s life exactly as they see it.
