Personal Statement

Everyone hits highs and lows in their lives. We all wish to be heard, understood, and accepted, which is why I value each and every experience shared by my clients. I believe in the notion of “putting yourself in ones’ shoes” to fully accept and understand others exactly how they are and what they are experiencing. I am passionate about giving voice to those who struggle making theirs heard and encouraging them to make positive changes in their lives. Each and every individual, child and adult, has the internal power to be the person they wish to be, through understanding, acceptance, and creating their unique meaning and purpose in life.

Client Testimonial

"Going to therapy with Maria has helped me a lot. Right from the start I felt comfortable enough to open up about my problems and what I wanted out of therapy. Every session, whether in-person or online, I always felt like I was in a safe space to talk about what was on my mind and have a genuine conversation with her. "

- Feeling secure

"We came to Maria when my daughter was showing increased signs of anxiety and OCD tendencies. Maria worked closely with her to identify her feelings, uncover solutions that would help her cope in the moment, and develop vocabulary for us as parents to use when her anxiety spiked. She also worked with her on longer-term plans to get in front of things in the future. Over the course of a few months, my daughter had a whole toolset to use, and her anxiety became something she could deal with, rather than something to fear. We are grateful to Maria for how much she has helped our daughter."

- Thankful parent

"Maria is by far the most exceptional counselor. I’ve tried 5 counselors before Maria, and I can confidently say she is the best one I have ever worked with. Her warm and empathic nature will immediately put you at ease, and because she’s so mature and very modern, you’ll feel very comfortable sharing your deepest concerns without judgment. She has a remarkable skill of being an amazing active listener, and will take the time to patiently walk through any intricate/complex problem you’re going through and break it down to bite size pieces for you to process."
