Personal Statement

We all have special gifts and talents which we use to make our way in the world. It brings me no greater joy than to help you discover those special qualities that make you unique and use them to problem solve the circumstances in your life. One of my gifts is encouragement. I have used this in a wide range of circumstances and careers to bring out the best in people. Sometimes we get caught in situations that don’t allow us to utilize our gifts, or we need to remember what is supremely important in our lives. Having the opportunity to strip away the accumulation of negative events or thoughts gives you a chance to pause, reflect and refresh on what is truly important in your life and integral to your genuine self.

Who I Serve

Because I have had a wide range of experiences in life, I feel fully qualified to serve couples, individuals, and students. I think that for anyone to serve someone in a counseling setting it requires sharing your story. Oftentimes we don’t take the time to review our lives and remember where we were, where we are currently, and where we want to go. I believe this process applies across the age spectrum. I am prepared to listen to your story and begin to help you plan what the next steps are in your growth.

Prior to my time at Cherry Hill I have served 4 years in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman. I have worked with Kenneth Young Center of Elk Grove/Schaumburg Township as a clinician and case manager. I have worked as a grants manager for the Suburban Area Agency on Aging. I have been a therapist for Caring Counseling Center through Immanuel Lutheran Church, Palatine, IL as well as, Woodfield Counseling Center/Woodfield Church, and The Evanston Vineyard Church/Counseling Services. I have been a classroom teacher at Round Lake High School.
