Cherry Hill Counseling has been rooted in Lake Zurich and surrounding communities since 1976. In downtown Lake Zurich, Cherry Hill is within walking distance of the Lake Zurich, Breezewald Park and Beach , and the Ela Area Public Library.  Located about 1 mile from the intersection of Rt. 12 and Rt. 22, Cherry Hill – Lake Zurich provides easily accessible counseling services to people living in both Lake and McHenry County communities nearby to Lake Zurich, such as Barrington, Long Grove, Cary, and Wauconda.

Serving Lake Zurich and surrounding communities for over four decades, Cherry Hill – Lake Zurich has a team of highly trained and experienced clinicians to provide for your needs. The Lake Zurich team is composed of a broad spectrum of counseling professionals including: Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. The Cherry Hill – Lake Zurich location utilizes two buildings for counseling services. In addition to the original counseling offices seen in the photo above, some counseling appointments take place in the Lake Zurich Annex where the Cherry Hill Business offices also reside. These two offices are adjacent to one another and share parking areas.

Practicing clinical psychology for over 35 years, Dr. Clark Barshinger has broad and deep experience counseling patients. His graduate education includes a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from DePaul University. He works mostly with adults, teens and couples.

Keith Bjorge, Psy.D.

Lake Zurich | Vernon Hills

Dr. Keith V. Bjorge is a clinical psychologist with nearly 30 years of experience. He has experience and passion working with troubled marriages, teen and family related problems, chemical addictions, and mood disorders. Dr. Bjorge earned the Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

Ashley Yergler, MA, LCPC

Chelsea Laliberte Barnes, MSSA, LSW

Chelsea A. Laliberte Barnes received an MS in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University with a focus in mental health for children, adolescents and families. Chelsea has nearly ten years of experience working with individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis. Chelsea is also a SMART Recovery facilitator and overdose education trainer.

Lydia Klassen, MA, LPC, CCTP

Lydia Klassen received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University. She has experience working with interpersonal issues, emotional regulation, grief, and trauma. Lydia strives to develop safety in the client-counselor relationship as she journeys with clients toward greater freedom in their lives. She has a particular interest in couples, families, and third-culture kids.

Benjamin Michaels, Psy.D.

Vernon Hills | Lake Zurich

Dr. Benjamin L. Michaels is a psychotherapist and post-doctoral fellow who provides therapy and completes psychological evaluations. He earned both his M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He primarily works with adolescents and adult clientele. He also has experience with domestic violence and substance abuse.

Liz Lattof, MA, LPC

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Cherry Hill Liz works with a wide variety of clients, children, adolescents, families, and adults. She has additional training in play therapy and groups.
