We are excited to introduce our newest Cherry Hill Counseling office in Deer Park, Illinois scheduled to open this summer! Located near the intersections of Rt. 12, Quentin Road, and Lake Cook Road behind the Deer Park Towne Center, Cherry Hill Counseling is perfectly situated to serve the families of Deer Park and surrounding communities — Palatine, Barrington, Kildeer, Long Grove, and Lake Zurich.
While our treatment team at Cherry Hill–Deer Park is equipped to work with a wide range of clientele, we have specialized training in several high-demand types of counseling including play therapy, parenting, teens and couples counseling. Our newly designed, upscale space offers discrete private offices, and we have two dedicated play therapy rooms to provide children a friendly, fun and productive environment.

Brendan C. Bell is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. He has worked in private practice for over 15 years, with offices in both Deer Park and in Wheaton. His expertise involves working with children, adolescents, and their families, with extensive experience addressing behavior disorders. Brendan also works with adults and particularly enjoys counseling artists.
Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has experience counseling teens, adults, couples, and groups. Before joining Cherry Hill, she counseled and led groups in a high school setting and at a behavioral health hospital. Her focus is on developing rapport with clients and using strength-based approaches to facilitate healing and change.
Maria has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. Maria enjoys working with a diverse spectrum of clients including individuals, couples, and families and ranging from children to adolescents to adults. She is currently working under supervision to become a certified play therapist.
Jack Gordon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He has experience working with adolescents, adults, families, active duty military and veterans. He has training in evidenced-based treatments including cognitive-behavioral therapy. His clinical interests include depression, mood and anxiety disorders, family and relationship issues.
Maria has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Maria is enthusiastic about working with different populations, including children, adolescents, and families. Maria has experience utilizing non-directive play therapy and her approach is client-centered based, while integrating client strengths within the process.
Sara Vasilev received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. She has a special passion for working with older adults and their caregivers and the life challenges unique to the aging experience. Everyone navigates grief and loss at some point - Sara helps people to honor and acknowledge the past and enjoy the present.
