Personal Statement

Through my MSW program, I have been trained to help people to overcome traumatic experiences through the use of various techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, as well as mindfulness and meditation. Dealing with trauma can be one of the toughest challenges we can face.  By working with you and learning about your particular challenge and any symptoms you, your family and/or your children may be experiencing, we can work together to help you find positive ways to cope and find that resiliency we all have inside.

I have found that the way we treat veterans with PTSD can also be applied to many other people and situations.  Some people I have worked with in the past have been in traumatic relationships, had traumatic medical experiences or traumatic work experiences (military or otherwise). No matter what you are going through, please know that there is help!  I have recently taken special interest in the ways trauma can affect our health and would love to help coach you through your journey and help you find ways to improve your health, as our physical health and mental health are often directly related. Do you work in a traumatic environment? Are you experiencing grief or loss? Is your relationship strained or coming to an end? Are you dealing with a special needs child? Have you or your children witnessed something traumatic? I hope you will come and see me. I will work with you to heal in a safe and pleasant environment. Need a great place for children to heal?  I have craft materials, games, fidgets, a sand tray and a doll house all waiting for your children (and some adults, too!) to come in, feel safe, and process their emotions.
