COVID-19: Our Community Care Plan

Greetings from Cherry Hill Counseling!

We would like our clients to know how we are responding to the COVID-19 virus situation. As a group we are committed to protecting the well-being of our clients as well as our team of therapists. We are taking wise precautionary measures while still working to ensure minimal interruption of care for our clients. Our efforts here are not fearful, but rather discerning, creative, and proactive.

Our Spaces

While we consider our therapy offices lower risk environments due to a small but steady number of clients that pass through our spaces throughout the day, we are taking precautions to sanitize our office spaces on a daily basis, particularly focusing on high-touch surfaces such as door handles, faucets, and chair armrests. We plan to continue to keep all offices open at this time.

Our Request

We would like to request that you partner with us in keeping our office space safe by not arriving in our office if you are having cold or respiratory flu-like symptoms. We ensure you that our therapists are also committed to not coming into the office if we are feeling any symptoms. We encourage you to follow the CDC guidelines to reduce virus transmission such as frequent hand washing, avoid handshaking, and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth when in public spaces. See CDC website here for more information about simple safety precautions: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/workplace-school-and-home-guidance.pdf

Creative Solutions

While we want to be wise in our approach to reduce virus transmission, we also want to ensure you that we are committed to doing everything we can to offer continuous services for our clients. For clients or therapists that belong to a high-risk population, are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, or who prefer to practice social distancing or quarantine, teletherapy may be a viable option for you. Our practice subscribes to a HIPAA compliant video conferencing service called Zoom. Via Zoom you would be able to participate in your therapy session remotely via phone, tablet, or computer rather than in our offices. We are equipped to offer Zoom sessions to private pay clients at this time. We are currently working and advocating with several insurance companies to provide reimbursement for teletherapy sessions for our clients. Some of you may already have “virtual visits” or telehealth as an included part of your insurance plan. While we do not have definitive information to offer you at this time, it appears that many insurance companies are in the process of evaluating and making decisions on expanded coverage for telehealth temporarily during this season. We will communicate from therapist to client as more detailed information becomes available on this topic. If you have questions or would like to discuss teletherapy options at this time, please contact your therapist directly.

Waiting Areas

We are aware that shared waiting areas may feel unappealing at this time. If you prefer not to wait in our waiting rooms, you may use the following communication procedure:

  1. Let your therapist know that you prefer to wait for your session in your car.
  2. When you arrive to the parking area, text your therapist to let them know that you have arrived and are waiting.
  3. Wait to hear back from your therapist via text that they are ready to begin your session.
  4. Enter the building and pass through the waiting area going straight to your therapist’s office to begin your session.

Community Care

Our goal is to provide a proactive, responsible, and loving response to ensure the health of our communities. We consider it a privilege to provide therapy services to you and your family and your emotional, relational, and physical well-being is our top priority. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your therapist to discuss those with them directly. Thank you for choosing Cherry Hill!
